Cherry Park Square
Cherry Park Square in San Leandro offered the potential to convert a one-acre site to residential use. We determined that the best use of the property would be eight single-family homes.
The project included acquisition of financing, winning support from the neighborhood, securing approvals from the city of San Leandro, project design, preparation of cost estimates, timeline development, general contractor management, and marketing of the homes.
Result: The project was completed on time and within budget. It also contributed to the stabilization of the Superior Avenue-MacArthur Boulevard neighborhood by replacing an abandoned, blighted service station site with eight attractive homes.
The Cherry Park Neighborhood Association that was formed at the end of construction in 2007 is comprised of the original owners of the homes. Homes neighboring the development have benefited also, with increased property values in the neighborhood.
